The Anderson Arts Center is the regional hub for the arts in the southeastern Wisconsin region. The renovated arts center includes a new geothermal heating system, ADA-compliant bathrooms, updated gallery spaces, and landscaping. The renovation began in January 2019, but was delayed by external repairs to the 90-year-old building. The project was overseen by InSite Consulting Architects and Camosy Construction. James Anderson

The Anderson Arts Center was founded in 1931 after the family's financial success. Its owners were James Anderson, an executive at American Brass, and Janet Lance, the granddaughter of Z. G. Simmons. The couple also created the elegant home on a lakeside property, the Kenosha HarborPark. The architect of the home, Archibald Morphet, and the architect Ralph Milman of Chicago, created a house with more than 30 rooms. In addition to the museum, the Center is home to an arts education program.

Admission is free for adults, but donations are welcome. Located on the campus of the Kemper Center, the Anderson Arts Center is part of a 250,000-square-foot campus with other attractions such as Kid's Space and the Kemper Hall Convention Center. If you're looking for an art gallery that's full of cultural programs, the Anderson Arts Center is a must-visit place in Kenosha.

The Anderson Arts Center also hosts regular events that tie into the community. For example, the center's Twilight Jazz summer concert series features regional jazz musicians and legends on the shores of Lake Michigan. The venue opens at 6:00 pm, and seating is free. You can even purchase food at the restaurant or snack bar! Although alcohol isn't allowed at the venue, visitors can enjoy live jazz on select Tuesday evenings during June and August.

During this time, visitors can show off their classic cars and browse the showroom floor.
