In a new exhibit, "More Than a Thousand Words: The Photography of Al Fredrickson," the Pleasant Prairie History Museum showcases the life and career of the local photographer. The exhibit features 54 photographs spanning Fredrickson's 45-year photojournalism career, as well as Fredrickson's home town. "The photographs will tell a story about our history, our community, and our culture, and the photos will make you want to go back and look at the pictures again," Fredrickson said.
The exhibit showcases a photojournalist who was born in 1951 and lived in Pleasant Prairie for 45 years. His career included working as a photographer for the Kenosha News, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Racine Journal Times, and Waukegan News-Sun. Some of his pictures were submitted to Reuters and circulated worldwide. His family stayed in the town of Pleasant Prairie for generations, and he spent his teenage years here. His work was published in numerous books, and his photos are now on display in the Pleasant Prairie History Museum.
