The Laurents' house was a great success for the architect, so much so that Wright included it in his book of 35 most important buildings. The Laurents lived in the house for 60 years. It's nearly impossible to tell where the addition was added. The Laurents were such devoted followers of Wright's work that they even adopted a son and a daughter from a local orphanage.

The Laurent House is located just a 10-minute drive from downtown Rockford. Parking is available on-site, and the Laurent House is located near the Spring Creek United Church of Christ. The Laurent House's foundation has recently finished the new visitor center and restrooms. The Laurent House reopened to the public on June 27, 2019. It is open for tours and other activities.
